During my fifteen years in hotel management I have been searching for a spot to call home, for myself and my guests. Even though I was drawn to the hospitality profession because I truly gain pleasure from making other people comfortable, it was still with selfish motives that I had to do it my way. I am drawn to the old and worn. My heart aches as I see the simpler pleasures of the old fashioned family vacation places disappear. Life is complicated enough. I was searching for "comfort lodging." Comfort lodging to me is complete privacy and independence, a good uncomplicated bed and bath, incomparable natural beauty, fire, water, and my dog (of course, my husband also)! Comfort lodging is a seaside cottage. I need a place where I can see and hear the sounds of nature--the creek, the roar of the ocean surf, the barking of the seals, the cacophony of the frogs, birds, butterflies, and a visible night sky.
